Does your life have meaning ?

Sometimes life can feel as if it is running us. Maybe it feels like an out of control rollercoaster or that you are treading water and just maybe it’s time for that to change.

Here are some tips for taking your life back and giving it meaning…

Things to do to experience what is important to you

·       Do something meaningful for someone that is close to you

·       Connect with nature

·       Focus on what you CAN do

·       Share with someone a happy memory that you have together

·       Take a step in a personal project (or create a project and take a step. It doesn’t need to be big!)

·       Let someone you love know how much they mean to you

·       Volunteer

·       Whatever the day throws at you; search for the positives in it

·       Do something for nature or the environment

·       Express gratitude to someone in your life for what they do

·       Explore another culture, religion, political view or time in history

·       Do something positive for your community

·       Look over some old photos

·       Reach out to a friend or colleague and lighten their day

·       Look at the sky and remember we are all part of this same beautiful, crazy planet

·       Commit a random act of kindness.

Things to do to explore what matters

·       Take 10 minutes out of today and reflect on what really matters to you

o   Take 20 minutes and the list above and explore why those things matter

·       Find 5 things that are meaningful to you

·       Explore how your actions make a difference to others

·       Take 10 minutes and think about what makes you feel valued and appreciated

o   Take 20 minutes time with that list and explore why

·       What 3 things have you done that make you feel great, light up inside

 

With the information from both of these you now have a clearer picture of what gives you meaning in your life. Now you can decide what to do with that information.
